The Effects of WOM on Buying a Car

For those of you who visit this blog regularly, you know how much I dislike BMW's customer service, enough to never purchase a bimmer again. You may also know that Mark and I have been eyeing the Acura RDX. The Subaru Forester is also on that list of next car's...

How WOM has been influencing the purchase:
1. Trust - We have received a lot of good feedback from Subaru drivers. The #1 reason why they recommend the car..."They have great customer service."
2. Community - Great reviews from online communities, like the Acura RDX Community.
3. Visibility - We noticed there are about 6 other Subaru Foresters on our street.

Coming soon...my review of the car dealership. This can really, really be a make or break.

Buy the damn scooby. The new Acura isnae a man's car. Get the Subaru WRX. You don't see Acuar's winning rallys. You'll be a cooler soccer mom while Mark can retain some dignity. And the Acura is too new. And get off your bmw soapbox, hater. The majority of the people who don't stop at the stop sign outside our house are Japanese, but I don't say I hate the Japanese. Lecture over.

Um, you are being a racist...you may want to reread your post.

Looked at the Acura RDX and I really like it. Will not stop my anti-BMW rant until they decide to beef up their customer service. Until then, the quest continues.

How is that racist? It's just drawing an analogy- you saying in your prior post about how you've had objects thrown at you from bmw's and bad customer service once or twice, and then deciding because of those three occurrences, you hate bmw's in their entirety!
It's just the same prejudice as me saying "hm. The majority of stop sign runners at my intersection are Japanese (or old, or blond, or male, etc.), therefore because a+b=c, I conclude that because I hate people who run the stop sign, and the majority of those who do are Japanese, I therefore hate the Japanese!"!!!! I don't hate Japanese people at all! Should have gone with the blond analogy :)

Bad customer service that has amounted to thousands of dollars. That is enough for me to be pretty pissed off at the company I think. That is why I don't recommend the car. That is why I would never get one.

PS. Yes, should not have gonw with the prejudiced analogy. Those are pretty sensitive topics with me. I know you are not a racist...geez. :)

Michelle, I see that you are looking for a cross-over type vehicle, check out this link http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/0607_2007_gmc_acadia/ I may be biased towards GM vehicles because I work for GM but this is nice.

Thanks Jeff,

I have an Alero and love it. I have had no issues with it at all and the service has been okay. But, since Mark is going to be the main driver...it is really up to him and he is adamant on not purchasing an American. However, I will take a look at the link and send it forward. THanks for that. :)
