One or several things made really good that you want to spread the word about?

It is time restaurants start paying attention to Chowhound (excuse me if you already are).

The title of this post says it all "One or several things made really good that you want to spread the word about?" Oh, what you can learn about WOM, buzz and...BAD WOM can do to you. Listen, listen, listen and learn.

WOM is the best or worst thing that can happen to a business. I read once that it takes 12 good experiences/comments to make up for one bad one. That's a scary thought when it's your reputation that's on the line.

CHOWHOUND's fun, Michelle; thanks. I especially enjoy topics such as "best supermarket in TO" and "where to find ...". The restaurant critiques help me; I often think of trying something I see advertised, but always want to hear opinions before spending my money, and time, and meals.

You are completely right RE: 12 experiences. That is why it is so important that customers are treated well through the entire cycle. Otherwise, it can really break you.

Yes, chowhound is great. Some real foodies there. I like to use it to see what people are saying about different restauarnts I pass by but don't visit...as well as other people's experience as some of the ones I do. The good thing is that it is not an advertisement at all but people who are really passionate about food in the city and really want to help. :))
