Intellimat

I stepped on one of these Intellimat's today at The Source - AND I hated it.

Hate is a strong word, I know. But I got a quick flash into the future and all I could see were glowing floors that had changing advertisements on them...then, one of them braking and getting electrocuted. Bzzzz!

The funny thing about these things is that people are afraid to walk on them. They notice them, then walk around it. I did. I guess it is one of those things where you just have to get used to seeing them everywhere...WHICH, I hope I do not.

I think they are wrong on so many other levels...but I think that way about lots of advertising vehicles...heck, I am a marketer!

I don't know if you've seen the movie Final Destination 3, but after watching that I think I would be a little scared too!

Ok, they might be intrusive... but you mention "wrong on many levels"... could you elaborate on that ?
Maybe it has to do with the fact that you might actually find yourself trampling some virtual guy ?

I am not one for big advertisements. Heck, we see them everywhere. On the side of big buildings, between plays during a football game, before you read an article on the NYTimes...this is just one more place. urgh. I already feel bombarded, this is making it worse...for me.

Wrong, because at some point I should be able to freely walk and not have to worry about walk I walk on and the message I am walking on.

Wrong, because I should be able to walk and not worry about tripping. Which I did feel.

Wrong, because it really is a hard sell. Hard sells just don't work anymore...IMHO.
