Thanks to Mark & Jeff, I cannot get enough of Babyshambles.
Pete Doherty - love him - no matter what you are doing behind the scenes. Down in Albion gets more brilliant everyday. Loves it.
So, what does this have to do with marketing?
1. Albeit Doherty is in the news almost every day, the music is not. It is rarely touted on the charts and I don't hear many outside my circle who have heard it. Andy have you? ...but that is changing.
2. Word of Mouth = Let me borrow that disc
3. WOM + Borrow = purchase disc for me and someone else as prezzie
4. Good sales in Toronto = babyshambles tour in Toronto

Mish wants to know whether I've heard Babyshambles..... heard of them, of course.... taken the time to listen to them? No. I think all the hype, the weekly court appearances, the on and off with the lovely Miss Moss have just made it seem like a big PR exercise which turns me away from the music. Probably too bad too. But at the end of the day, the end of the day comes, and you just can't listen to everything.
Andy I hear you about Pete's publicity. I watched him sing during the Live 8 concert. He was obviously wasted. I wasn't surprised by the media attention surrounding his drug problems.
Mish, I'm open-minded though. Recommend a track and I'll listen. :)
alright guys - go into pandora and type it in...

F*ck forever

PS. you guys are reading too much trash magazines...
Okay, so I listened. They were better than I expected.
You don't have to read trash mags to know Pete's pretty f*#&ed up.
