To Download, or Not To Download

I got a ping for an invite to Joost from PD.

I sent a ping back, "sure, why not." I know that Peter is on top of the latest and greatest of community marketing.

So invite comes...and so too is a line from Peter...um, you gotta download something...

Wha? Download?

In the age of 'everything is on the web', google applications and ftp servers, I don't remember the last thing I downloaded....perhaps iTunes? hm, maybe Second Life.

So, do I do it? I check out joost and is sounds pretty good. It is tv + internet + community. cool.

hm, do I do it? do I do it? do I do it?

...to be continued.

So I've been using Joost for quite a bit now, and I just don't see the appeal. It's heavy on system resources, takes up a good chunk of my screen real estate, and there really isn't anything super interesting on there. Probably worth downloading to play around with it, but unless you find something on there that really piques your interest, I'm not sure it's really as earth-shattering as people make it out to be. I'll stick to downloading my TV through torrents.

Uh, no Mac version. Another time-waster avoided ;-). Gimme a book.

Vasta - do you get any really good sports channels? How about muchmusic?

Andy - they do have a mac version.
I will flip you the URL...can't seem to locate it from this comp. However, I tried to download and you need a mac with the Intel processor...are you upgraded?

Haven't launched it for a little while, I heard they added some good stuff recently. I'll kick it into gear tomorrow and see if there's anything that piques my interest.
